Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for ADHD Children

Cognitive Behavior Therapy or CBT is the short-term, goal-oriented therapy that targets the dysfunctional thoughts and feelings that prevent you from managing your time, completing your assignments and making a proper schedule in your life.

CBT is an effective ADHD Treatment in NJ and NYC that benefits both children and adults. It is based on the recognition that cognition and automatic thoughts lead to emotional difficulties. Growing your child with ADHD can stimulate the problem; it makes your child pessimistic. This affects their health negatively and develops an unhealthy self-confidence. They lose the positive hopes easily and fright in doing and trying something new.

The CBT has revealed certain ways that distort the thought process in an ADHD individual.
  • A child with ADHD either views everything to be good or bad; if they fail to do something, then they consider themselves to be failed.
  • They often misunderstood what people think about them. They always think of bad views for them from the people.
  • They always think negative and always blame themselves for the thing that goes wrong.
  • They do a wrong comparison and develop the feeling of inferiority.
CBT helps in recognition of these imprecise thoughts and replace them with pragmatic thinking.

ADHD Treatment in NJ and NYC with CBT is in more demand. Although, when compared with medication, both works differently. CBT works to reduce the life impairment like procrastination, time management etc. On the other hand medication works for basic attention functions as it helps in increasing focus and concentration to do the particular task, and organization and management of the task assigned.
